I'm back at the Hostel working on a National Endowment for the Arts grant, but I've just heard from Julie and she says the boys are LOVING Hobbiton. They were headed to a sumptuous Hobbit lunch at the Green Dragon Inn. (I think that's a Hobbit reference...wasn't a fan)
One of the boys said last night, "I can't wait to NERD OUT at Hobbiton." You have to love that boys have a safe place like KSB to be their authentic selves.
After lunch they head to Rotorua to immerse themselves in Maori culture.
I want to give a shout out to all the family sponsors. While they each are associated with a tour outing that resonated with them and their sons, all of them helped create a ripple effect in the budget that allowed for us to offer the boys extras like Hobbiton, Rotorua, and two Haka workshops. We fully understand not every family was in a position to sponsor, as this tour was already a big investment of family resources. Profound thanks to those families who were able to stretch a little further to enrich the boys experiences on tour.
